What is saunth and how is it used? Saunth is dried ginger powder (sukku in Tamil, soonth in Gujarati), the pantry form of adrak that goes into kadha, masala chai and winter laddoos like the saunth-gond ones new mothers are traditionally given. A pinch in warm water with jaggery is a common household nuskha after heavy meals. It also lifts chhole and gives gingerbread-style warmth to halwas. Finely ground and sharply aromatic, delivered across Dubai from our Oud Metha kirana.
